Is Fraud Normal In Normal?

A Normal, Illinois man was sentenced to 8½ years in prison; pay $585.38 in restitution and two years of supervised release after his release from prison. He was found guilty for attempting to obtain about $45,000 in workers’ compensation benefits through fraud. He lied about his medical condition and exaggerated his symptoms to doctors and physical therapists to remain off work collect temporary total disability benefits and receive medical care.

While this may be one of your typical insurance fraud claims, the question that comes to my mind is not about the individual attempting to defraud the system but that he is from a town called Normal, Illinois! Is this “normal” behavior for residents of Normal, IL???

What about the fact that he attempted to claim $45K in benefits but only had to pay restitution of $585.38? That is crazy
